Vauxhall cars and commercial vehicles are highly-rated by experts, with a growing list of top honours achieved in 2018, including International Van of the Year for Combo Cargo and Best Buy Car of Europe 2019 for Combo Life.
The winning streak began in January, with the Crossland X receiving the maximum five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test. The SUV was rated best in its class for safety. The family-focused SUV performed well in each of the four safety areas tested, and scored maximum points for adult and child occupant protection in the side barrier tests.
Vauxhall’s Insignia flagship wowed judges across several leading industry awards including Best Large Family Car for the second year in a row at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards and the Upper Medium Category at the inaugural Company Car Today CCT100 Awards.
The rugged Country Tourer version was also recognised as Best 4x4 at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards 2018 and Best Crossover Estate at 4x4 magazine’s 2018 awards.
In September, the all-new Combo Cargo was voted International Van of the Year 2019 (IVOTY), the most coveted light commercial vehicle title. Awarding the Combo 127 points, the jury of specialist journalists from 25 European countries put the new Vauxhall well ahead of the second-placed Mercedes Sprinter (92 points). The Combo’s innovative assistance systems, economy and driver enjoyment all played decisive roles.
Then, last week, the Combo Cargo was awarded What Van? Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2019, a title reserved for the outstanding model debut of the previous 12 months. The class-leading Combo Cargo doubled up on accolades by winning the coveted Light Van of the Year 2019 title.
Also last week, Vauxhall’s all-new Combo Life won AUTOBEST’s Best Buy Car 2019, highlighting the family car’s excellent value for money and outstanding practicality. The AUTOBEST awards are highly-regarded among the most important European accolades, with an independent judging panel composed of expert motoring journalists from 31 countries.
