Vauxhall has again proven itself to be the best brand for family cars, having scooped the top spot in three categories at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards. The Insignia Grand Sport led the way, picking up the Best Large Family Car accolade, after the Astra won the category last year.
It wasn’t just the Insignia that triumphed, with the Astra adding to its already large trophy haul by picking up the Best Used Car and Best Automatic Car awards. The Carbuyer Best Car Awards are focused on what matters to buyers, honouring the winners with the title of being the best in their respective classes. Winning models are recognised as meeting, or surpassing, the standards that Carbuyer has identified across key buying factors such as style, space and running costs.
“The Insignia Grand Sport offers a supremely comfortable driving experience and is loaded with technology, such as brilliant OnStar concierge service,” said Stuart Milne, Editor of Carbuyer. “It also offers a line-up of efficient engines, making it a fantastic car to drive long distances. As an all-round large family car package, it’s sensational. But what really steals the deal is its value for money.”
The Astra has previously picked up multiple awards from across the industry, and it impressed this year in the Best Used Car and Best Automatic car categories. “The Astra is a spectacular family hatchback, with good looks, a great driving experience and more than enough interior space to suit most needs. But as a used car, it’s unbeatable thanks to a wide range of great-value examples available on the used market. With nine trim levels and a huge range of efficient petrol and diesel engines available, coupled with the choice of automatic and estate models, there really is something for everyone,” added Milne.
“We are delighted to receive these three awards from Carbuyer,” said Stuart Harris, Vauxhall’s Head of Carline Brand. “Vauxhall raised its game even further with the launch of the Insignia Grand Sport, setting new standards for design, quality and connectivity. And its successful smaller brother, the Astra, has a packed trophy cabinet thanks to its eye-catching looks, efficiency and technology.”
